New Orleans Personal Injury Attorney
When a serious accident turns your life upside down, the insurance company on the other side already has a team of lawyers and adjusters working to minimize what they pay you. You need someone who is prepared, experienced, and genuinely invested in fighting for you — not a case manager or a paralegal, but an attorney who knows your case and never backs down.
That’s what John Williams delivers.
On Your Side — From Day One
John founded The Law Offices of John S. Williams in 2012 with a straightforward mission: help ordinary people stand up to powerful institutions and get the compensation they deserve after devastating injuries. He represents injured clients across Louisiana in cases involving:
- Bicycle accidents
- Car accidents
- Catastrophic injuries
- Motorcycle accidents
- Premises Liability
- Truck accidents
- And more
His entire career — from the Arkansas Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division to the ACLU to juvenile justice advocacy — has been spent on one side of the courtroom: the side of people who need someone in their corner. He has never represented an insurance company. He has never worked for a corporation. Every case he has ever taken has been on behalf of someone who was wronged.
That’s not an accident. That’s a choice he makes every day.
A Scientific Mind in the Courtroom
What genuinely sets John apart begins before law school.
John earned a biology degree from Xavier University of Louisiana and a master’s degree in biology from Alabama State University, originally planning to pursue a Ph.D. in immunology. That scientific training isn’t background noise — it’s a litigation advantage that shows up directly in how he handles injury cases.
When insurance companies hire doctors and experts to downplay your injuries, question causation, or challenge your medical treatment, John can evaluate those claims with a level of analytical rigor most attorneys simply don’t have. He understands the medicine, he can challenge flawed methodology, and he knows how to present complex medical evidence in a way that resonates with juries.
In personal injury cases, where the fight over medical causation and the extent of your injuries is often the fight, that background matters.
A Career Built on Advocacy
John’s path to personal injury law ran through some of the most demanding advocacy work in the country.
After earning his law degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law, he clerked for a justice on the Arkansas Supreme Court — an experience that shaped how he thinks about legal strategy and appellate risk. He then joined the Arkansas Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division, where he fought fraud, deception, and corporate misconduct on behalf of everyday consumers.
He went on to serve as Legal Director for the ACLU of Mississippi, handling significant civil rights and constitutional cases involving free speech, protest rights, and conditions of confinement in state facilities. In 2008, he returned home to New Orleans as a staff attorney with the Juvenile Justice Project of Louisiana, advocating for some of the most vulnerable people in the state.
Each of those roles required going up against powerful institutions with far greater resources. That is exactly what personal injury litigation demands — and it is exactly the experience John brings to every case he handles.
How John Works
John’s approach is direct: treat every client with honesty and respect, prepare every case as if it is going to trial, and never let an insurance company’s resources or delay tactics pressure you into a settlement that doesn’t reflect what your case is worth.
When you work with John, you work with John. You won’t be handed off to a junior associate or spend weeks waiting to hear from your attorney. He is accessible, prepared, and straightforward with you about where your case stands and what your options are — even when the honest answer is complicated.
